About the BGA

In 2018, we started as a small group of 8 players looking to play some weekend golf with a competitive twist. Little did we know, there were others out there just like us.  So we set a mission to create something unique, an experience to look forward to, and a community to feel a part of. 

Today, we continue on our journey to create the largest community of amateur golfers in Canada.

Round Signups & Payments

  • Signups open 6 weeks before each event. Payment is due at the time of registration.

  • Signups close 2 weeks  before each event

  • ClubLink Members only pay for skins at signup ($20 + fees). Reciprocal/cart fees billed separately. applicable at Clublink properties. 

  • Each event is limited to 120 spots – first come, first served.

League Format

  • 12 of 14 events are Individual Stroke Play

  • Spring Scramble & Member-Guest tournaments have different formats

  • 80%​ of handicap index played at all events

Flights

  • Approximate flight allocation as follows:

    • Champ Flight: +2.7 - 7.0 (Black Tees)

    • A Flight: 7.1 - 9.4 (Black Tees)

    • B Flight: 9.5 - 11.9 (Black Tees)

    • C Flight: 12.0-15.4 (White Tees)

    • D Flight: 15.5-19.9 (White Tees)

    • E Flight: 20.0 - 32.2 (White Tees)

  • You will remain in your assigned flight for the entire year, regardless of index changes.

  • How many events do you play?
    The BGA owns and operates 14 Sunday golf tournaments at various golf courses between May and September. Our schedule consists of 10 regular season events, 1 Member-Guest, 1 Scramble, and 2 playoff events.
  • Do I need to be a good player to join?
    We are open to all skill levels and have various flights for competition so all parties are equal. Just don't sandbag...
  • Do I need a Golf Canada Index to join?
    A Golf Canada membership is included in your BGA membership fee so you are not required to have an active GC membership to join. Each player is required to maintain a GC index throughout the season.
  • How do I join?
    The fastest way to join is by signing up for our waitlist. All waitlist registrants and past members will receive an official email to register for the upcoming season early in the year (usually January or February).
  • How much is a membership?

  • Can I bring a guest?
    Our priority is to reserve spots for members only. However, depending on cancellations and availability, we may have spots for your guest. Please have them register to one of events by visiting our Schedule page and we will get them in space permitting! Alternatively, take advantage of our annual member-guest tournament!
  • Can I play with friends, or make pairing requests?
    Tournament participants will receive a private link to register their group and select their tee time slot or shotgun start. Pairing requests are not accepted during playoffs.
  • What are benefits to being a member?
    Members receive first access to all events plus several discounts on tournament registration fees and merchandise. Please visit our Membership page for full details
